"What If" unrealised capital gains report enhancement

• What feature do you want to see in Sharesight?

Hi Guys , while the unrealised capital gains report is good, it would be even more useful if you were able to select and deselect stocks to expand or limit the calculation to specific holdings

• Why do you want it?

To minimise capital gains tax its often necessary to try and offset capital gains with capital losses. Current the unrealised capital gains report only shows the entirety of your potential capital gain/loss.

Assuming you are considering selling a limited number of shares that will create a capital gain and want to see the effect of a “balancing” capital loss sale (or visa versa) .

Currently the only way i could see how to do that would be as per the demonstration video is to create a temporary new portfolio and enter in the two (or more) stocks that you want to evaluate the effect with.
This seems a clumsy and manual approach.
it would be much nice to alter the existing report to allow the tickbox ?selection of two or more stocks to easily see the effects of the capital gain or loss “what if” scenario

• How is this affecting you?
this would be a terrific improvement for my personal scenario and i assume others to have fine grained control of sale options to balance capital gains and losses

• Do you currently have a workaround solution? If yes, what is it?
the creation of the temporary portfolio and the manual entry recreation of the two or more stocks to evaluate

• Can we reach out in future to ask follow up questions about this idea?
of course
