Return on Performance Report

Hi,

I have a question regarding the return amount in the performance report. I realized that the return was not just the price difference between buying and selling. The amount is indeed the selling price minus the buying price if I bought and sold the stock within the same year. But it is not when I bought for example in 2019 and sold in 2020. Anyone can help me with this?

Hi @WEIORABI if you are referring to the monetary gains, the total return will be ‘capital gains/ loss + dividends paid + currency gains/loss (if applicable)’.
The percentage gains are calculated using a dollar-weighted (also referred to as a ‘money-weighted’) return methodology.
