Total Return Report

Hello,

Relatively new to Sharesight and have a question. Is there a way to see what my total return would be if I sold a dividend paying stock today? I want to see total proceeds, not annualized, if I sold today including all dividend reinvestments minus my initial cost basis. For example, I bought a stock for $1000, dividends were $100 and the stock is now trading for $1100. if I sold today, my capitol gain is $100 and total return would be 20% or $200. I realize the calculations can be different for tax purposes but I just want the simple total return. Hope that makes sense.

Hi @Radman44 In Sharesight, percentage returns are annualised by default.

However, if you’re viewing your portfolio over a period of less than one year or if the investment has been held for under a year, Sharesight will display the absolute return instead. At this stage, there isn’t an option to switch between absolute and annualised returns manually.

We appreciate your understanding, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Let us know if you have any further questions!
