• What feature do you want to see in Sharesight?
The horizontal bar charts in the Contribution Report are useful in getting a quick view of what has done well and what hasn’t. However as it is in dollar amounts, the contribution to earnings will depend on the size of holding. (For example, making $20K on a $200K category is less beneficial than $20K on a $50K holding.)
What is more useful is to be able to toggle and see the % rise for each category. Don’t think this would be hard to do. Would be consistent with other reports and pages allowing Monetary or Percentage Gain to be shown.
If Sharesight were really clever, it would be a stacked bar with capital gain and dividends in different shades.
• Why do you want it?
As above
• How is this affecting you?
Not as helpful as it should be.
• Do you currently have a workaround solution? If yes, what is it?
I can dump all the data out into Excel and spend a lot of time trying to sort it out, but isn’t that why I use Sharesight, to avoid doing spreadsheets?
• Can we reach out in future to ask follow up questions about this idea?
You bet.
