Hi, I find Sharesight very useful and here are some things that I would love to see implemented - various degrees of importance and complexity and in no particular order:
- When you add a new BUY of a security that was already purchased in the past, allow user to choose whether to “consolidate” it with previous purchase or show as separate holding. Reason - sometimes I have the same holdings in taxable and non-taxable account, and currently there is no way for me to mark part of the holding as taxable and part as non-taxable [perhaps for each trade, you have a “broker account” field and if for two trades in the same security broker accounts are different, trades show as separate holdings]
- Ability to choose more than one benchmark simultaneously for my portoflio view
- Ability to see how much of a negative effect on portfolio returns (in absolute terms and in %%) is coming from brokerage fees
- I understand that on main portfolio page, % returns are annualised for holdings purchased more than 1 year ago, but simple (non-annualised) for holdings purchased less than a year ago. However, from my portfolio page there is no way to tell which is which. Any chance to add asterisk to those with non-annualised numbers? Or different colour, or some other visible marker? Or just make them all annualised - or even better, create a toggle for user to choose between annualised and non-annualised returns?
- Choosing time period in top left corner of portfolio view - why not allow between any two dates?
- Customised portfolio view - currently you have specific columns: Equities, Price, QTY, Capital Gains, Dividends, Currency, Return. It would be fantastic to be able to modify columns and add, for example: currency, time since first purchase (e.g. 1.7 years), sector, industry, custom group, whether they are trading ex-dividend or not, cost base, ISIN, country of the company.
- Bulk change - there are few instances when bulk amendment would be helpful: bulk confirm unconfirmed dividends, bulk mark holdings as non-taxable, bulk assign broker to holdings
- When in main portfolio view with “include closed positions” selected, mark closed and open positions in different colour (I know you can tell which ones are closed by looking at quantity being zero but when you have a list hundreds of trades, it is pretty hard)
- Long shot - integration of portfolio with Seeking Alpha one day?
I hope these suggestions are helpful, and I am happy to elaborate further.
Thank you!
