I’m a new Sharesight user and I have 4 seperate portfolio’s. I would like to moves holdings between portfolios from time to time.
I noticed that this was thread from back in 2021, has the platform been updated to accomodate the previous request?

Hi @JSP, we haven’t got any plan to build this feature on the front. But just curious how often do you move your shares between portfolios i.e in a month, and what is the use case? Like is this transfers between different entities, between brokers, between family members etc?
I’m surprised that Sharesight doesn’t directly support this type of transaction. For Canadian investors (and perhaps those in other countries), it’s quite common to transfer shares from a taxed account into a non-taxed account* in order to make one’s allowed annual contribution to the latter… (*We have two types of non-taxed accounts: ‘RRSP’ and ‘TFSA’).
So: How should such transfer process be managed in Sharesight so as to end up with accurate calculations of rates of return and base costs for the ‘donor’ and ‘recipient’ portfolios?
I also would find this very useful - for example I am consolidating broker platforms and want to move shares into one reporting portfolio - and given the different subscription thresholds, now I have done some due diligence on 20 years of investing and returns I maybe don’t need so many portfolios.
I have four as well. Transfer capability is a must. At the moment Sharesight offer to do this for clients needing transfers done. However, this CAN cause reporting issues, which is a BIG NO NO if you’re operating an account for your SMSF. Reporting has to be audited and submitted to the ATO, accuracy is PARAMOUNT.
I have experienced instances where very helpful Sharesight staff will complete stock transfers between accounts. However, all dividend payments can be transferred as well. This is WRONG, because dividend payments need to be shown in the account and reports for which they were received - ie stocks transfer from portfolio A to B, but dividends earned for the period MUST stay in portfolio A.
Hoping this is addressable because I have just sent off a support ticket and also doing my SMSF tax! I pay a lot of money to run this app, so it deserves attention at higher levels, not just end up as a technical support issue.
HELP!
