I am manually uploading my portfolio for the first time. For my US stocks it asks for my cost base in CDN dollars… My broker lists US stocks in US dollars. What is the most efficient way to reconcile this?
Hi there, at Sharesight the currency of cost base should match the portfolio currency. Hence, if the tax residency of your portfolio is Canada, you need to enter the cost base for all the shares in CAD. If you wish to add the cost base of US shares in USD, you need to create a separate portfolio with tax residency as “United States”.
