@RickyYeo the use case is pretty clear. As you set up your portfolios circumstances change. I was managing my property asset with my share portfolio as that is how your videos suggested we manage property assets. But I was finding that it was skewing my reports. I want to create a separate portfolio to manage property but have to re-key all the data.
I understand it is not available at the moment. I am simply asking if you are going to commit to make it available in the future or if I should just go ahead and do it manually.
Another scenario, @RickyYeo , is that I want to re-organise how I manage my portfolios. I want to move my cash account to another portfolio. There is no way to run an all trades report on the cash account to export that data. And there is no way to import data for a cash account.
Another vote to transfer between portfolios and here is my use case that I know is not unique as there are lots of other online forums discussing similar actions.
Main reason is to consolidate brokers.
Over the last 10 years or so I have started and used different brokers as prices and fees have changed with new brokers entering the investing space with lower fees.
I’m now moving to Interactive Brokers (IBKR) and they have a daily direct intergration feed into Sharesight and in it’s own portfolio. All the other brokers are in a combined portfolio that I forward the contractor notes into via email. As I’m transferring stocks from the other brokers into IBKR I also need to update the Sharesight portfolios to match.
I’m giving you a use case of someone who had one portfolio and so had holdings mixed in them and was then upgrading to be able to separate them out. I’ve since deleted all my holdings and am in the process of reuploading them to address this issue. Thank you
+1 for this feature, please. I want to reorganise my portfolios and it’d be handy to self-service so I can tweak them the way I like without unnecessary overhead of loading the support and waiting for their manual actions.
I have sent an email in recent weeks (and with a follow up email) requesting a portfolio move for a relatively long list of holdings.
I understand that can take some time, but haven’t even received an acknowledgement, or an indication as to how long it might take, or even whether it can be done. Just left here in the dark wondering whether support really responds to these requests.
I’d also +1 for this as I use IBKR and if I transfer holdings from non-margin > margin and vice versa I have to do this manually each time. E.g transfer share ABC from non-margin to margin account, sharesight doesn’t automatically pick this up so when stock ABC is sold in the margin account it becomes negative as there wasn’t any ABC shares in the margin account to begin with. Ideally it would be good if sharesight could either determine it was a transfer or if not allow a manual asset transfer between portfolios similiar to what would be done within the IBKR platform.
