Historical Cost Report Download

When downloading the Historical Cost Report into Excel I used to receive an Excel spreadsheet that looks exactly like the actual report format in Sharesight. All on one sheet.

Now, Sharesight is dumping an Excel file with multiple sheets (one for each group of investments in the HCR) and a “combined” sheet showing the whole portfolio - but without totals for each group.

Why can’t I download a simply Excel file that replicates the HCR? The PDF version is OK but the Excel version is a complete mess.

The last 2 times that they changed the format of the spreadsheet download were on 14/09/23 and on 11/06/24. I don’t know why they download it in the current format rather than like the report looks. It works fine for me as I load the “combined” sheet of the spreadsheet into a database table and use more code to extract figures to update my general ledger valuations and individual stock prices for holdings. It’s just a minor nuisance every time they change the format as I have to change my code.
