Benchmark Chart is a lie ,

• What feature do you want to see in Sharesight?
Fix your benchmark comparison its a lie/ misleading it does not track cash input and output as your portfolio does. If I add cash amount to my portfolio “top it up” in simple example the returns % will change because total capital has changed. This does not happen with benchmark . For a same comparison you need to act like you would have the same capital inflow/outflows as you would with your portfolio only you choice this instrument instead. This very much seems like comparing apples and orange. I will have to drop down to free version. As if your not doing this correct what other bugs are there I haven’t seen yet.

• Why do you want it?
Because your math is incorrect

• How is this affecting you?
Cant make a real comparison with benchmark , chart is pointless

• Do you currently have a workaround solution? If yes, what is it?

• Can we reach out in future to ask follow up questions about this idea? yes

Everything about the charts needs an overhaul.

Hi @steve05 thanks for your suggestion. Cash balance in a portfolio does not affect the portfolio return. Can you please reach out to our support team if that is not the case so we can have a look at your portfolio. Thanks!

Hi Steve,

I agree the timing of investment decisions is essential to factor into performance assessment. This issue is related to an earlier request I added to allow this effect to be understood.
