I am really hoping Sharesight is the tool I’ve been looking for but I’m struggling with how to set it up. I am a US citizen living in Australia, with financial accounts in both countries. As a US citizen I am subject to US taxes wherever I live in the world. As an Australian resident, I am subject to Australian taxes. I want to be able to see my investment portfolio, and in the same place ideally generate tax reports for both the US and Australia. The accounts are the same, I am the same person, it’s just that I need to do the reporting for two countries. How does this work in Sharesight? Or is this just not possible? How do other US citizens abroad do it?
I have the same question as I am a dual USA and UK citizen. I am wondering if I duplicate my portfolios - one as USA and the other as UK tax residency if Sharesight will recognise they are the same portfolio for dynamic data updating and thus enable producing two separate tax reports? Has anyone tried this or come up with another solution?
