New holding page

Thank you for your valuable feedback @Rodos. I will share this feedback with our product team.

The process of entering prices through the custom investment page is nothing short of a disaster. I have about 25-30 custom investments held over two separate portfolios and it is a nightmare to update prices with the new set up.

With the old holding page, I simply went to the page for the investment and could directly update the price there. This new arrangement requires multiple additional clicks, doesn’t show which prices have been updated and which haven’t (you have to look into each price) and mixes both my portfolios together.

Please retain the old holding page - I’d pay more to have access to it!

Custom Holdings pricing
Hi @RickyYeo. I have some sympathy for @Swordfish805 comments.
My comments/suggested improvements:

  1. The link to the price input page does not appear on the new consolidated view page for the holding. It does appear on the holding view within the portfolio (in the ‘price comparison’ box)
  2. After clicking through from the ‘Manage in custom investment prices’ link I can’t easily click back to the holding. There’s a link at the bottom of the details tab, but I don’t find that location intuitive at all. Perhaps make the heading at the very top of the custom investments page (i.e. house>Custom investments>HoldingName) a hyperlink back to the portfolio view of the holding?

Hi @mwse thanks for the feedback. I agree having a link in the consolidated view that takes you straight to the custom investment page. And am I correct to say that you normally navigate to the holding page first before jumping to the custom investment page, rather than going straight to custom investment (CI) page is because you can see the last updated price in the holding page (before deciding to update the price), but you can’t do that in the CI page without first clicking into each holding > price?

For the navigation back to the holding page, just checking my assumption is correct. If you’re navigating from the consolidated view into the CI page (assume we put a link there), ideally you want a link to take you back to the holding page in the consolidated view rather than the individual portfolio, is that correct?

Hi Ricky

Yes - I always start at the holding page. I rarely (never) go in via the custom investment link under the account drop-down.

My process is:

  1. I receive a new price from the asset manager
  2. I go into the holding on SS (might be via portfolio or consolidated view)
  3. if the price has changed then click into the ‘Manage in custom investment prices’ link.
  4. I update the price if needed
  5. [I want to then get back into the holding]

Yes - that is correct

thanks for your help

Thanks @mwse !
