Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas. Your headspace is more important than anything else…
Just joined.Mist of my reading is keeping up with fat prophet reports.
Not one of the listed categories but I have had a lot of success following the advice of the Intelligent Investor.
I have found various investment newsletters to be the most useful over the years. Back in the day, Rene Rivkin was always interesting. Also, Marc Faber and his Doom, Gloom & Boom report. More recently, I have come to like the Intelligent Investor.
Elliot Wave Principle x Robert Prechter - got me thinking; and Buffet Speaks - Wit and Wisdom (x Janet Lowe) - got me laughing!
Rivkins’ rules
I love Patrick the people he has on his show is just unbelievable. It’s not so much about investing but it’s the viewpoints and the stories they bring I can’t think of anywhere else you would actually hear these people or read about them.
To be honest I can’t think of one single item. I’ve had my ‘inspiration’ from lots of different sources which have all contributed to many small lightbulb moments. Mostly blogs, podcasts and videos.
Thinking Fast and Slow - Daniel Kahneman. Not really and investment book but great insights into behavioural biases we bring to investing
I like listening to a variety of sources but I particularly liked Chris from StockSpot who just made an investing plan so simple and easy to implement.
For getting into the right headspace in the beginning I highly recommend “The richest man in babylon”. An easy read too! Also love the JL Collins Simple Path to Wealth and his stock series on his website.
Market wizards series
I listen to Aussie Firebug’s podcast. He introduced me to Sharesight as well. I’m just a beginner so keen to find out other material to check out.
Shareplicity, Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham, Money and Freedom, The Barefoot Investor
I loved the old Google Finace website. It was super helpfull. Not so now.
Four titles helped me get underway: Janet Lowe’s “Benjamin Graham on Value Investing”; Philip Fisher, “Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits”; “Fortune Strategy” by Higgens and Abey; and “The Money Masters” by John Train. I must say the wealth of readily available material these days is mind-boggling - I wish the internet was running when I was!! The most valuable lesson, though, was to not fall in love with one stock. I keep my erstwhile favourite in the portfolio as a reminder of that, having changed its name from, ‘My Mega-bagger’ to ‘Shambling Zombie’!
Mine is just researching on the website and reading up on the companies
