Forum Search facility

Maybe I’m blind and this is a stupid question but where is a simple text search feature for the Forum so that relevant topics can be readily found?

I cannot think of any other forum I use that doesn’t provide this highly useful facility.

Happy to have my blindness corrected.

I’m with you js.mcskimming, we both must be blind :frowning:

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi @js.mcskimming and @Bernie, our apologies for the inconvenience. Currently the search option is unavailable in our forum due to a technical issue and we are working on fixing it.

Thanks @Piumi_Sharesight, it’s good to know I’m not going bonkers

Search is still down.

Whilst you wait if you start a topic, Sharesight community forum will look for duplicate topics/posts so as not to duplicate unnecessarily topics. This is a basic form of “search”.

After posting the exact same question, this topic appears. Nothing prompted that this was a duplicate.

And still no search function in Jan 26?

Fantastic response times. ‘Technical issue’? Haha. If a technical issue lasted 18 months without being resolved, the team responsible would be fired. Hey maybe that’s why it’s never been addressed … :joy:

Like far too software providers, once you’re a subscriber and ‘locked in’, servicing the community becomes a minor irritant. It doesn’t help revenue growth or increase subscriber numbers so why bother. I’m no longer waiting for a fix. Or anything much by way of resolution of problems that don’t meet the either or both of the above criteria - revenue growth and/or subscriber growth. Call me cynical if you wish …

Assessing SS at the moment, and accordingly have a bunch of questions - but am amazed that there is no search function. May be the difference between signing up fully or not - not a good sign.

Hi all,

In order to fix issues with the Search not being usable, we’ve stripped out customisation of the Community which should resolve some UI problems and allow the forum to be searched properly again.

We will continue tweaking so you may see some ongoing changes moving forward, but let us know for the time being whether the experience is improved; also should be more clean/legible on mobile devices at the very least.

Thanks for your patience!
