Hi Sharesight team,
I wanted to offer a few feature suggestions that I think would greatly enhance the platform for users. Would love to hear peoples feedback. Also does anything suggested actually get implemented.
1. Hypothetical Performance for Sold Positions
It would be interesting to see the performance of companies I have sold as if I still held them today. Currently, the only workaround is to recreate trades in a dummy portfolio or use the Share Checker feature, which can be time-consuming and cumbersome. An integrated option to view hypothetical returns on sold positions would save time and provide a more complete view of portfolio performance.
2. Target Portfolio Weightings and Trade Suggestions
The ability to assign target weightings to holdings and see how your portfolio compares to these targets would be a valuable planning tool. Ideally, this could also include the ability to experiment with different portfolio allocations using new and current holdings and receive suggested trades to reach target weightings—taking into account, for example, monthly contributions or recurring investments.
3. Focused Portfolio Reporting
It would be helpful to filter reports to view only specific parts of a portfolio. For instance, users employing a core-satellite approach could focus solely on their core holdings when reviewing exposure, diversification, or performance metrics. This would make reporting more flexible and actionable.
5. More Detailed ETF Information
ETF reports could provide additional detail such as leverage, total fees, and other structural characteristics. This would make it easier to assess risk and costs without needing to consult external sources.
I think these additions would make Sharesight significantly more powerful and user-friendly for active investors. Thank you for considering these ideas.
