# Target weighting

**• What feature do you want to see in Sharesight?**
The ability to set a _target weight_ for each holding, and also showing its _current weight_ and perhaps the difference between both.
It would be good if there was a way to set the target weight, and show the current weight and it’s difference for a custom group.
**• Why do you want it?**
Helps with sticking to my investment plan and able to keep my portfolio balanced without having to maintain a separate spreadsheet.
**• How is this affecting you?**
I have to currently maintain a separate spreadsheet to track this.
**• Do you currently have a workaround solution? If yes, what is it?**
Spreadsheet.

100%. I base my investments on a weighting for custom groups and by individual security. Would be nice to see base cost weighting, current value weighting, and custom group weighting, as well as a comparison to goal weights.

Yeap, I’m up for this too. I need a tool that will do this for me, are present I’m maintaining it all off line in Excel.
