# Consolidation negatively affects Cost Base.

Late AUG 2022 I had a US stock have a consolidation of 5:1.

ie: from 500 to 100 stocks.

From all reading I have done, the cost base should remain the same but Sharesight took the cost base from $3864.35 down to $3818.09 effectively having a ~2% error.

Manually removing and adding the Consolidation and checking the cost base each time, shows the figures changing.

\*\*\* You have a problem with Consolidations affecting the cost base. \*\*\*

I have an issue with HIVE consolidation. The holding shows two lots of consolidation basically dropping my holdings down by a lot without any increase in their value? **strong text**
